NAMM 2013: New Budget Controllers From American Audio

American Audio is showing prototypes of three new controllers, all aimed at the budget-conscious DJ.

The American Audio VMS DJ is a largish controller with decent sized jogwheels and a built in sound card. Two channels, it has balanced outputs. Meanwhile the ELM-C1 comes in at under US$100, has better jogs than some of its competitors at this price point, but has no sound card. And finally, the VMS Jelly is like the VMS DJ, but changes colour to the music

These controllers are currently only prototypes so we have no word on when they’ll be available. The VMS DJ is the most promising of the two, feling actually quite similar to the old Mixtrack Pro, but having XLR outputs as a bonus addition.

All of these controllers will come with Virtual DJ LE.

What do you think of a controller than changes colour to the music? Do you like the look of those jogwheels? Do you think American Audio’s controllers will do well at the crowded budgetend of themarket? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
